Annual Fund Gift

Please consider a tax-deductible donation to our school so that we may continue bringing music to the community.

• Donations take the form of cash, in-kind donations, or planned giving.
• We also accept publicly-traded stocks, bonds, securities, and real estate.
• Musical instruments, music, housing for our out-of-town guest artists and teachers, etc. (see in-kind and donations below)

Your reliable monthly contribution provides the predictable funding necessary to maintain our beautiful new facility and keep life-changing music programs accessible to all students. Endowment

NVMS is currently raising money to establish a $4 million endowment to sustain the future of music education in the Flathead Valley. To date, $1.5M have raised.  Thank you!

Endowment gifts may be made directly to NVMS or to the NVMS Endowment Fund held at the Whitefish Community Foundation. NVMS has a general endowment fund to support operating expenses and a scholarship fund for scholarships.

Publicly traded stocks, bonds, and securities can be donated to the endowment. You might also take advantage of the Montana Endowment Tax Credit.

The Montana Qualified Endowment Credit  (formerly known as the Montana Endowment Tax Credit) allows donors to pay less in Montana state income taxes when they give a qualifying planned gift to North Valley Music School’s permanent endowment fund managed by Whitefish Community Foundation. Volunteers contribute countless hours to our school in many forms. Please contact NVMS at info@northvalleymusicschool.org to find out how YOU can be of help.

Donations and In-Kind Gifts

NVMS appreciates high-quality, lightly-used instruments and musical donations, as well as in-kind services, as they help advance our mission and sustain our music school. 

• Organizational discretion: When donated, the donor relinquishes all control and rights to the instrument. The nonprofit’s staff and board of directors will decide how the donation is used, whether through repair and loaning, redistribution to other organizations, or sale.

Corporate Partnerships are a great way to support your community through your business. There are 3 levels available and each has its benefits. Please call the school for more information.

You can still "be instrumental!"

Although NVMS has completed the public campaign and built a beautiful new music school, there are still projects that need to be done that were not included in the campaign.  These projects include:

• Shelving for the Listening Library in the waiting area
• Instruments for the Outdoor Music Park
• Shade flags for the north courtyard and west performance area
• Benches along the walking path
• And more!
