Position Opening:  PROGRAM DIRECTOR (.75 FTE)

Key Responsibilities

The role is divided into five primary areas of focus:

  • Program Management & Development: Oversee all school programming and events, ensure policy compliance, and create program budgets. Develop new classes, evaluate existing ones, and identify new program opportunities.
  • Faculty Leadership: Recruit, hire, and train faculty. This includes managing program schedules and performing annual faculty evaluations focused on instructional quality, communication, and alignment with program goals. Track retention and facilitate professional development opportunities.
  • Student & Family Engagement: Manage student enrollment and retention. Work with families to address questions, concerns, or special needs. Create and execute program evaluations. Develop/manage volunteer opportunities for students and the community.
  • Communication: Curate reports for the Program Committee that strategically align program development, execution, and assessment with the NVMS mission and goals.
  • Event Management: Organize logistics for NVMS programs and events, including summer camps, concerts, and special events. Tasks include but are not limited to venue setup, ticketing, and onsite volunteer management.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Education: Degree in Music, Music Education, or Arts Management or related field.
  • Skills: Strong collaborative, organizational, communication, and event management skills. 
  • Technical: Proficiency in Microsoft 365, social media, and website maintenance.
  • Other: Ability to work evenings/weekends, a valid driver's license, and a clean background check.

Preferred:

  • Experience in nonprofit music programs and financial budgeting.
  • Experience with donor databases or CRM platforms.


Compensation & Application

  • Salary: $40,000 – $60,000 annually (depending on experience).
