Acoustic Jam
Join us in the North Valley Music School great room each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. for a weekly acoustic jam!
Faculty member Don Rees leads this informal group of intermediate to advanced musicians in fun, old-timey folk, blue grass, Americana tunes. Bring your acoustic guitar, banjo, violin, viola, stand-up bass, cello, mandolin, harmonica or washboard (whatever you've got!) and join the fun. Adults, young adults, all welcome.
(No charge, but donations always gratefully accepted.)
Winter Activity at NVMS
It was a busy holiday season for the music school.
Our students participated in the downtown Christmas Stroll, with violinists from the studios of Sally Jerde, Sam Taylor and Jenanne Solberg performing at the First Presbyterian Church, accompanied by Valli Ostrem and led by Kathy Neff. Also performing at the church was instructor Diane Dickerson and her harp students. Teachers Don Rees, Tina Bertram, Judy Doxtater & Holly Hendricks oversaw student pianists, guitarists and vocalists at downtown Coffee Traders. Much thanks to the Presbyterian Church, Coffee Traders, our teachers, students and volunteers for a fabulous stroll!
On December 12th, the Whitefish Community Orchestra performed at The Springs at Whitefish. This 20 member, multi-generational orchestra is led by NVMS teacher Jenanne Solberg. It was a lively performance before an appreciative audience.
More students performed at the Whitefish Care & Rehabilitation facility Dec. 14th. And piano teachers Judy Doxtater, Diane Dickerson and Tina Bertram all had studio recitals in December, with Don Rees's recital in January.
A giant thank you to our hardworking music teachers, students, parents and community supporters.
