North Valley Music School is the only non-profit, community music school in Montana. Located in beautiful Whitefish, we annually serve 400 students of all ages through private lessons, early childhood music, performing ensembles, group classes, workshops, master classes, and summer camps. We also bring music to over 1,500 community members each year with our faculty and student concerts and community performances. This year we are celebrating our 15th year of enriching our community through musical education and performance. Our faculty of 12 offers private lessons in Piano, Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass, Electric Bass, Voice, Guitar, Electric Guitar, Mandolin, Banjo, Harp, and Flute. Scholarships are available for all ages. NVMS relies on donations and grants from individuals, businesses and foundations to keep our school running and provide an affordable, quality music education for all (see Support NVMS). NVMS is housed in a historic Whitefish building at 432 Spokane Avenue (Hwy 93), convenient to downtown and schools.

Memorial Day

There will be no lessons Monday, May 27th; they will be made up on Monday June 10th.

 

Summer

June 10th is the last day of lessons for the Spring trimester and the regular school year.

 

Limited lessons are available during the summer, so please contact the office if you are interested.

CROWN OF THE CONTINENT GUITAR SCHOLARSHIPS

The Crown of the Continent Guitar Foundation (COCGF) announced that scholarship applications are being accepted for Greater Flathead Valley guitar students and teachers to attend its fourth annual guitar festival and workshop.

 

The event will be held at Flathead Lake Lodge in Bigfork, Montana August 25 – September 1, 2013. For more information about the workshop go to http://www.cocguitarfoundation.org/

 

North Valley Music School is coordinating the scholarships with partial and full scholarships available. Applicants need to have studied or taught guitar for at least two years and have been a resident of the greater Flathead Valley for at least one year. They are also asked to complete an application and an essay about the role of guitar in their life, and submit a recording. Financial need will be taken into consideration.  Applications will be accepted until June 14, 2013 at 5 pm.  The scholarships will be announced by June 28, 2013.
